On Tuesday, February 24, our 9th grade CJHS students traveled to CHS to listen to an impactful presentation by the Fentanyl Fathers. Students Cole Gerling and Evan Naboychik shared their thoughts on what they took out of the conversation.
First, we talked to Gerling, and he shared that he believes, “More teens are going to see the outcome of what happens, and they will hopefully understand how serious this is.”
The presentation was so impactful that people now realize that any time they take medication, they must make sure it is prescribed to them. The fake pills are made to look identical to the real ones, so you must be careful.
Next, we spoke to Naboychik, who stated, “The part that was most impactful was how emotional it was with real-life stories and how it affected their families.”
No one understands how much it could affect their family. Although you think it is the best decision at the time, please know that it can be a life-ending event.
Nobody realizes how serious dealing with dangerous medications is until you speak to someone who has lost a loved one to it. You must make sure you are safe when taking medicine because you might not know how dangerous it could be after all.
