The new movie people are obsessing over is Obsession. Obsession is a psychological thriller directed by Curry Baker. The film follows a music store employee who buys a supernatural toy which grants him a wish, to make his friend fall in love with him. The wish goes wrong and the rest is for you guys to figure out. The film explores themes of grief, guilt, and identity, as well as unhealthy obsession.
In Backrooms, Clark, a struggling furniture store owner, discovers a doorway in his basement that leads to the backrooms. He goes through endless eerie mazes, hallways, rooms, and unsettling adventures. He visits mysterious dimensions, and he eventually begins to start losing touch with his normal life. The movie is less about jumpscares and more about psychological horror focusing on memory, grief, identity, and the fear of being trapped in a place that looks familiar, but feels completely eerie and wrong.
Power Ballad is a musical comedy-drama film that stars Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. Rudd plays a wedding singer named Rick who writes a song that Jonas’s character, Danny, steals and reclaims fame off of. It’s a feel-good story about music, self-respect, friendship, and the price of ambition.
