Nicki Minaj, a long time pop-icon and a strong representative for the Queer community, recently spoke out at a Turning Point USA event on December 21st of 2025 praising Donald Trump, putting herself under fire by conflicting with her past public beliefs and slapping millions of her devoted supporters in the face.
Minaj went on about Trump being “handsome” and “dashing,” ultimately leaving her fan base shocked. Within a couple of days, Minaj’s Instagram, X and TikTok followers were immediately replaced by members of the MAGA and Republican communities.
Ariana Grande, an old friend of Minaj, no longer follows her and it seems to the public as though their decade-long friendship has officially come to an end. Grande still stands by LGBTQIA+ communities and remains in full support of Democratic candidates and her Queer older brother, Frankie Grande.
Minaj, who was originally born Onika Tanya Maraj in Trinidad, has been open about coming to the United States as an undocumented migrant. On social media in 2018, she vouched for immigration experiences during Trump’s first administration, commenting, “I came to this country as an illegal immigrant. I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place & having my parents stripped away from me at the age of 5.”
Recent news has spread about action possibly being taken by the Trump Administration via petition to deport Minaj. Sources say that Minaj has “stepped back” her unwavering support for MAGA due to numerous petitions demanding her deportation.
Due to deceitful behavior and unexpected mentions, no one really knows what Nicki Minaj’s future holds. PR experts have now warned that this “could be the end of her career.”
