The 60th annual powderpuff game started off with a kick on Wednesday, 10/1/2025. With a heated match between seniors and juniors, the seniors pulled through for the win leaving their class undefeated.
As a result of the bitter loss for the juniors, tension grows between the sophomore and junior class in anticipation for next year. When asked what the worst part of being on the team was, junior Paige Krol responded, “The refs rigging the game for seniors to win.” This displays how invested the team was in the game after spending time practicing and preparing for the big night.
Krol explains a key takeaway from this game, “It has shown me to be more encouraging to others as encouragement is the key to one’s success and the development of friendships,” demonstrating how even though they lost, that wasn’t the whole point to playing for these girls. They joined powderpuff to make new connections, friends, and to have fun learning something new.
Seniors relished their victory at the post-game huddle in the locker room. “I think that a lot of the girls are a lot nicer and more friendly than I’d previously believed. When we were all working towards the goal of being back-to-back champs, we all collectively stepped up our game we were quick to help the other girls who didn’t understand what was happening,” senior Elle Van Driessche stated. The grade collaborated to help those who were falling behind, despite the fact that not everyone knew each other. The senior class is heading towards a great year leading with a win.
