Whoa Zone- Going to Heron Beach is a great summer activity that you should try. The Whoa Zone is a water park and obstacle course on the water; it’s a great activity to do with friends on a hot day!
Spending Time Outside- Being outside gives you many opportunities to do lots of activities. You can go on a bike ride, play games, practice a sport, or go on a walk. Also, being outside is really good for you; it gives you fresh air and a break from screens.
Traveling- Many families enjoy going on vacations over summer break. It is very popular for people to go on road trips up north. Many people in Michigan have cottages in places like Harbor Springs, Petoskey, or Bay View.
Beach- Going to the beach is an activity that surrounds you with much more. For example, tanning, getting ice cream, swimming, going on walks, canoeing, fishing, and much more.
Hanging out with friends- Hanging out with friends is a great and fun way to spend your summer. In the summer, it can feel very lonely when parents go to work and are not able to go to school and see friends. This summer, text one of your friends and ask to ride bikes, or go somewhere fun.
Pool- Going to the pool is one of the most popular summer activities. If you are bored this summer, going to the pool is a great option. Some people have pools at home, or you can easily get a membership somewhere. At the pool, you can hang out with friends, swim, and play games. I love going to the pool, and I think this is the perfect thing to do on the hot summer days.
Lemonade Stand- The summer days get very hot, and sometimes people need to be refreshed. Having a lemonade stand is a good way to make some extra money and to entertain you and your friends or siblings on days with nothing to do. Additionally, there are multiple types of stands available if you are not interested in lemonade, such as a bracelet stand, soda, pastries, and more.
Parties- Many people get bored over the summer, and if you want a fun thing to do with your friends, hosting a party would be a fun idea. There are many different types of parties for you to host or attend, such as pizza parties, pool parties, and birthday parties.
Tubing- Going tubing is the perfect activity for a hot, summer day. Invite your friends, and you can even make it a competition to see who can stay on the longest!
Going to a grandparent’s house- Going to your grandparents’ house is a perfect time for family bonding and memories to be made! Try doing games like cornhole, football, or maybe even basketball.
All of these options are sure to keep you busy during the summer. Make sure to try some of these, especially if your screen time is high. Summer isn’t very long if you really think about it, and in Michigan, the warm weather also doesn’t last long, so make the most of it and get outside!
