As part of Clarkston Junior High’s 2nd semester Digital Journalism class, we walked downtown to interview people. We talked to Stacey, who works at the Main Street Dental Office in downtown Clarkston. She talked about what a good person is and how she makes herself a good person. As we got to talk to Stacey on Wednesday, May 13th, we were lucky to talk and learn more about her.
We asked her what the most important lesson she learned in her life was and she said, “Be honest and trustworthy to your fellow people in your life. I learned this by not having anybody who was trustworthy and you find that out. You want to make sure that you’re presenting yourself as the best person that you can be to your employees, coworkers, and parents as you can,” Stacey said.
This explains how sometimes you have to go through hardships to learn how to be the best version of yourself. Stacey had to learn through experiences what she values about herself and other people.
We learned through this interview that trust and honesty is a valuable trait to many people. It can help you work with the people around you such as the work environment and in your personal life. It makes you a better and more trustworthy person and it helps you to encourage that behavior with those around you.
We loved talking to Stacey and learning how she, as well as many others around her view the world. Her advice is a reminder to us that even difficult situations can shape you as a person.
