As spring break is this week, students from CJHS and all around the country are planning to go away for spring break. Some plan to go to the beach, different cities, or just somewhere warm/cold. After months of weather changes here in Michigan, students from CJHS are sharing where they are traveling.
Firstly, CJHS student Dalton Schmidt shares, “For spring break, my family and I are heading up to Holland, Michigan. We take a week-long trip because it is close to family and a nice getaway. While we are there, we spend time with family, swim in the pool, and maybe go shopping downtown. Holland, Michigan, is so great because it has many beaches and shops, and is special to my family.”
Schmidt’s spring break plans show how much fun and meaningful a trip can be without going out of state. For a lot of students, just like Schmidt, spring break is about spending time with family while having fun traveling. Local spots like Holland, Michigan, are just as relaxing and fun as further locations. Similarly, another CJHS student shares a different traveling spot they are headed to that is a little farther away.
“For spring break, I plan on going to Arizona. Arizona is going to be great because my family and I are headed to the Grand Canyon. I have never been to the Grand Canyon, but I am very excited to see it,” Zahra Doolen shares.
Doolen’s spring break plans show that it can also offer new opportunities to explore. Visiting somewhere like the Grand Canyon gives students the chance to learn and experience cool sights. Trips like this show that students are traveling to destinations where they can bond with family, while learning about history. Lastly, we have one last person planning to go farther away from Michigan to have a good time.
Freshman Brynn Calka shares, “I’m planning on going to Seaside, Florida, for spring break. I’m staying at a beach resort, so I will be looking for shells and tanning. I love going to Florida because it is supposed to be very hot.”
Together, these different spring break plans show that traveling on spring break can be fun, whether you’re in-state or are going out of state. Even if students are staying in Michigan or going across the country, they all want to relax, spend time with family, and change up their daily routine.
