CJHS History teacher, Daniel Clason, shares how he wants to inspire students to make a difference in their lives and why he wanted to become a teacher.
“I’ve only ever wanted to become a teacher because I didn’t have to do math. I hope my students know that I will always root for them, and that they accomplish everything they want to accomplish in life,” Clason said.
Clason is a big inspiration for students because he has a special way of teaching that makes learning fun and interesting. He makes sure everyone understands what they’re learning by doing projects, playing games based on the topic, and other fun and helpful ways that help us remember what we’re learning, but also how we learned it.
Clason wants his students to grow academically, but also grow beyond school. He wants his students to do well in life, accomplish everything they want, and to grow as their own person.
“The Civil War and World War II are my favorite history topics because they represent some of our country’s finest moments. Civil War debates and war stories from World War II are my favorite projects my students have done,” Clason said.
You can see through his teaching how much he loves being a teacher and how much he loves the topics he’s teaching. And while being a teacher has its challenges, he always finds a way to solve problems the best he can.
