Daniel Carpenter is a football coach and an 8th grade science teacher at CJHS. Carpenter is known for his fun experiments and his unique teaching style. If you ask kids around the school, you’ll hear how he is one of the best and favorite teachers at CJHS.
CJHS 8th grader Jaylynn Stewart explains why she enjoys Carpenter’s science class, “Because he has lots of fun labs and he’s a funny teacher, but still makes sure we apply ourselves to the material being taught.”
CJHS 8th grader Elle Siwek also enjoys Carpenter’s class. “I enjoy Mr. Carpenter’s class because we get to do a lot of labs and that helps me understand what we are learning about; also we do a lot of fun things in his class,” Siwek said.
Not only are Carpenter’s experiments fun, but Carpenter also helps provide materials for his students for those who can’t provide them for themselves. He also has mini sales where students can buy candy, drinks, chips etc. to help fund some of his experiments not wanting to take away from the school’s science funding.
Makayla Drake explains what her favorite lab experiment was, “I can’t recall the name, but we had tubes with zinc, and we poured carbon dioxide into the tubes. Once settled, we would light wood skewers, put it in the tube, and hear the noise it would make. This was my favorite because it was very fun and exciting.”
Carpenter has made 8th grade science fun for everyone and has raised the students’ interest in science.
