New CJHS teacher Mr. Laidlaw with a few other students talk about his history class

The one and only Mr. Laidlaw.

Mr. Laidlaw is a former SMS History teacher who taught 7th grade. He started teaching in 2021, starting at the middle school then going to CJHS in late 2025, teaching 9th grade. Lots of students love him and say he’s a great teacher. Let’s hear the word from them.

“When he gives us easy assignments…they help us learn a lot of stuff, and he’s a super cool dude making me really love history,” CJHS student Daniel Acosta said.

“Mr. Laidlaw has a great sense of teaching, helping students love history with also a great style of teaching. Almost every single decoration in the classroom is from a student. He also held my decoration from when I gave it to him in late 2023, showing he loves his students. He is a great teacher and helps people find the fun of learning, letting people love history. He also led me to love history and got me greatly to love the topic of WWll. Overall the ideal history teacher.” 

“His teaching style was a really good way to help me learn in general, and it was a very helpful style; I wouldn’t have had any other teacher. He’s a very good teacher,” CJHS student Logan Nolen said. 

Most students love Laidlaw; he’s overall a great teacher with a unique way of teaching, letting people find their path with history or in general being a teacher. As we can see with those three people in his class, it is a great class and he overall loves doing his job. Now let’s hear it from Laidlaw himself.

“It was always my passion to help people and make people get better, that’s why I started teaching,” Mr. Laidlaw said. 

As we can see, he really loves doing his job. Mr. Laidlaw is overall a great teacher with a passion to help kids succeed. He is the ideal teacher and still follows every policy.
