As the summer comes and the school year ends, CJHS is forced to say goodbye to one formar 9th grader Sophie Weber.
Weber is a 9th grader who has sparked inspiration and touched the hearts of many people in the community of Clarkston. With her funny and welcoming personality and warm smile, Sophie has easily made many friends with 8th and 9th graders.
Weber has done dance since she was 5 years old at a dance studio in Florida, until coming to Michigan at age 11 continuing her love for dance.
During her time at her dance studio in Michigan, she has grown very close to CJHS 8th grader, Piper Zientek.
Zientek explained her first impression of Weber, “I thought she was a cool cat. On a more serious note, I thought she was very kind and absolutely gorgeous.” Her and Weber go to the same dance studio and have yearbook class together allowing their friendship to grow this school year.
The next interview I did was with Mrs. Dennis, a teacher Weber has had for both of her years at CJHS and has grown a very close bond with a teacher she enjoys yapping with.
Mrs. Dennis and explained her feelings on Sophie leaving next year, “I’m going to be devastated when Sophie leaves because she’s such a bright light who always makes me smile and laugh. Over the past two years that I’ve been fortunate enough to have her as a student, I’ve watched her grow into a lovely person who will leave a lasting legacy at CJHS. I can’t wait to see what her future holds at CHS and beyond!”
I then interviewed one of Weber’s new, but close friend, Joey Rickard. They have been friends for 1 year.
I asked Rickard how excited are you to start CHS with Weber, “I’m so hyped and so pumped and ecstatic, because me and Sophie are best friends and I can’t wait to make memories. She’s my twin; we’re basically twins if we had the same hair.”
Sophie Weber is a bright student, a true friend, and a great person to have around, so even though she has to leave CJHS, her mark will be left.
