Before exams, many students feel stressed or overwhelmed. Between studying for multiple exams and trying to maintain or boost grades, preparing for exams can be a challenge for some. Many students agree that having effective study strategies can improve test results and boost confidence.
An important study tip is staying organized. Creating a study schedule and spreading out study time can help students remember more material more effectively, rather than cramming at the last minute.
CJHS freshman student Emma Paul shared how organization helps her succeed, “I like to stay organized, so I know what needs to be studied, and it helps me remember more when it’s spread out through multiple days.”
Another effective way students study is by using the brain dump technique, where you write as much down about a certain topic as you can remember and then see what you missed, and keep doing it until you memorize the information.
CJHS freshman student Elliana Thuesan shared how this study tip helps her, “This study tip really helps me remember the important information that I need to remember for my exams.”
The last tip is getting good rest and being focused. When students get good rest, it helps them be more productive and present in the exam. This is helpful because it helps you remember the small details that can boost your exam grade. Staying focused also helps so you don’t misinterpret questions.
Although exams can be stressful, students can reduce stress by using these study tips and being prepared. As exams approach, following these tips can improve your performance in exams and reduce stress, causing a more relaxed exam week.
