On Wednesday, May 13th, we discovered Clarkston’s downtown history. Throughout Clarkston, we found the importance of the restaurants, activities, and people. We had the opportunity to meet Bridget, who participates in a weekly knitting club at Honcho.
“Downtown Clarkston is a unique place because not only is the history preserved here, but its vibrance comes alive every day,” Bridget replied in response to what makes Clarkston so special.
Not only does Bridget share the importance of how special Clarkston is, but she also demonstrates how a small town can make a huge impact on one’s life.
To add on to this, the second question that we asked Bridget was, “What does Clarkston represent, and what is the scenery that it brings to the area?” “Clarkston represents new urbanism and is fine as a revitalized downtown. Overall, Clarkston’s scenery is beautiful, and its vibrant colors make a person feel calm,” Bridget said. This shows that Bridget loves to admire the town, and she confirmed that Clarkston is as beautiful as people say.
The final question we asked was, “What is the importance of downtown Clarkston? To which Bridget replied, “Clarkston is home for me, but I also find a sense of belonging in its environment.” This shows her sense of belonging in the community. We believe that Bridget loves her community and appreciates it every day, which was shown through the way she calls Clarkston home.
To conclude our interview, our questions with Bridget show that Clarkston is a home for many and also how the town makes a huge impact on warming the community.
