At Clarkston Junior High School, volunteering has become an important part of student life. Many students take part and organize events and activities to help both the community and the school itself . For students at CJHS, volunteering is not just about earning hours, it is about making a difference.
“Volunteering helped me realize how much small actions can help people. It feels good knowing you’re doing something positive,” CJHS freshman Serafina Pinelli said.
Many students also enjoy the teamwork that comes with volunteering. “You get to meet new people while helping others at the same time. It makes school feel more connected,” 9th grade student Carter Bryson explained.
Students believe volunteering also helps them build important skills. 9th grader Olivia Debell shared, “You learn responsibility and leadership without even noticing it.” Freshman Lea Christensen added, “Volunteering shows how much CJHS students care about their community.”
As more students continue to volunteer, CJHS’s strong sense of community continues to grow.
