Clarkston Freshman Volleyball players Olivia Kilpela and Leanne Scanlon share their keys to success and their favorite parts of the Clarkston Volleyball program. It is important to always be a leader and have a positive attitude and a voice on the court.
Scanlon shares why she likes playing for the Clarkston Freshman Volleyball team, “I love all the people there and I like how we all have good chemistry and our communication skills.”
The Clarkston volleyball team brings a lot of spirit to the school with their amazing record of game wins. They have a lasting record of 14-1, they are on a win streak, and with their communication, drive, and leadership, they are able to play on the court with confidence.
Kilpela and Scanlon are leaders and role models on their team.
“I would consider myself a leader because I use my voice a lot on the court and I am very uplifting; I bring a lot of energy to the team,” said Kilpela.
The Clarkston Freshman Volleyball team is energetic, compassionate, and strong. The Clarkston Volleyball program makes sure their players have a constant focus on their team, not themselves.
The Freshman Volleyball players are there for their teammates to rely on. Scanlon explains how she has grown into a leader on the team, “I help people cope if they feel frustrated or down on themselves, and I also am very loud on the court and make sure that everyone is where they are supposed to be.”
The team is a family that supports each other with what they do, and they work together to be successful. Kipela and Scanlon look up to the older girls on the Clarkston Varsity team, or even girls on other teams. Kipela looks up to Varsity Clarkston volleyball player Stella Smith because “she’s my big sister on Clarkston and every single time we give each other a gift, she writes me the sweetest notes and she is just so positive and I am just so grateful.” The whole Clarkston volleyball team is one big family that comes together and supports each other. They are kind-hearted, loving, and passionate players on and off the court. Come and watch the Freshman Volleyball tonight in Lake Orion. Go Wolves!
