In the hallways or in the classroom, you’ll see a helpful smiling face. Jennifer Castiglione, a teacher at Clarkston Junior High School, will always be there to uplift and help her students. She gives advice in and out of school, but what are her hopes and goals for herself?
“As a teacher, I hope former students think of me as someone who listened, cared, and tried to help them see the connection between what we were doing in class and the real world,” Castiglione said.
She has high hopes for her students and wants them to know she will be there if they need her. She wants them to know she can help and talk things through if they are ever in need of a little extra push in and out of school, and will remember her as they move on in their lives.
When asked what she is most proud of, she responded, “I am proud of what the Project-Based Learning program has become! A decade ago, when this started as an idea to test out in one class, I never thought it would become what it is today. It reminds me of the power of always trying something new in education.”
Castiglione has a passion for what she does. She takes pride in her and her colleagues’ work and their lives at school; she is happy with her impact on CJHS students and academics now and what it is to become in the future.
Castiglione has a very strong connection with her students and her life around her. She is talked about very positively by her students and other staff for her patience and understanding with them as individuals and her classes as a whole.
