Elle North, power forward on the Blue team.
Elle North, Power forward, speaks on how the most recent 8th grade basketball game went, how teamwork impacts the outcome of each game, and gives advice to incoming players starting fresh this season.
“To all the incoming basketball players, I would say not to put so much pressure on yourself. It’s only middle school basketball; just try your best. At the end of the day, that’s the only thing you can do. I wish someone had told me that when I first started,” North said.
Her passion for basketball truly shows as she has been a mentor for younger players who have either been on her team or play basketball in general. She is always lending a helping hand or giving advice to any player who is in need of it. She always helps with drills, always goes for the extra practices, and does drills and exercises at home to improve.
North also explains the importance of teamwork, “Teamwork makes a huge impact on how the team performs. A good team always has strong teamwork, and that’s what always leads them to victory each time. I always value it.”
For North, teamwork is the most important part, and it truly shows when she’s on the court, as she always puts in a great effort to include all of her teammates. She is not only an amazing player, but she is also such an asset to the team as she demonstrates a variety of different skills each game.
Forward Brooklyn Radlick explains her perspective on how she played and how their team works, “Good because our team worked really well together.”
I think a successful team comes with people who work together, so I really think it’s good that the team helps her be the best she can be. When the team communicates, they have more of a connection and will work better together.
“My biggest weakness is ball handling and my greatest strength is defence,” Radlick said.
It’s helpful for her to realize she is not good at everything and to acknowledge that. Despite this, Radlick is dedicated, hardworking, and quick on her feet. She is a team player who learns from her teammates and they in turn learn from her.
