Student Lee Ensley
Everyone has something that pushes them everyday that makes them, them. For current 8th grader Lee Ensley who attends CJHS, music and art are a strong motivational force. Let’s take a dive into a former Andersonville Elementary School and Sashabaw Middle School student.
Creative student Ensley talked about her love for art and music; this passion had begun early and has only grown stronger. Since joining the band in the 6th grade, she has now discovered new ways to express herself. “Band helped me learn how to play instruments and I can use that to play a lot more,” Ensley said.
During Ensley’s years at Sashabaw Middle School, she said that without Mrs. Lipke, an art teacher, she wouldn’t feel so empowered.
The Clarkston Community School district contributed to Ensley’s ability to fuel her dreams. She’s grateful for being able to take both art and band classes.
Ensley also explained that art clubs have helped her with becoming much more creative. Although she’s met a few critical classmates along the way, she admits that those experiences helped shape her character and motivations.
Ensley’s goals ahead are clear. When asked about where she sees herself in 10 years she said, “I either want to be in an art studio or a music studio.” Ensley imagines a life surrounded by the things she loves the most, but most importantly, she wants to be remembered as someone who helps people.
With talent, gratitude, and a desire to help others, this young artist’s future looks as bright as the art she continues to create. Ensley shows that being yourself is the most important thing you can do. Do not pay attention to what others think about you if it will get in the way of your dreams.
