Josie Chirco poses at Cedar Point.
A person’s childhood has a significant impact on who they become later in life. Some people are quiet kids who don’t talk much, and some, like Josie Chirco, were the complete opposite. As a kid she describes herself as someone who “was extremely extroverted and was friends with anyone,” and she is still the same way. Whether it’s through after-school activities, shared classes, or even if you barely even know her, she always manages to start a conversation with ease.
Chirco describes what she thought her life would be like as an adult when she was a kid, “I thought I would be a doctor when I was a kid. With a big apartment like you see in the movies, and with bunches of animals.”
Often when people are younger they have the biggest dreams, and usually don’t think realistically. The problem with when you get older is that you can think too realistically and forget about the things you are the most passionate about.
Now Chirco hopes to become a Bio Engineer, something she finds interesting and enjoys learning about in school. This contradicts what she thought she would have been interested in. She thought she would be taking more art and drama classes, because she also wanted to be an actress.
While some kids are remembered for getting in trouble a lot, she is not one of them.
“I never really got in trouble as a kid and never really rebelled,” Chirco said.
The only thing she ever got in trouble for was always talking too much, which is completely expected. Especially because she is someone who wants to be remembered as “super extroverted and helpful.”
Chirco is always willing to lend a hand. Whether you don’t understand a question or just need some moral support, she’s there.
