
The Clarkston freshman volleyball team is setting off strong this season, using their unstoppable spirit, impressive teamwork, and commitment as they face off against local opponents.
The team engages in various friendship-building activities, from sleepovers and dinners, to fostering connections, and maintaining positive communication. Student-athlete Brooklynn Matthews stated, “I chose Clarkston volleyball because the team helps me become a better player and teammate. The environment helps me work harder.”
The volleyball team has been hard at work with crushing every team in a game with wins (8-0) this season. Teammate Ella Park shared about practice techniques, saying, “Using a tennis ball to practice snapping your wrist really helped me improve!”
“My favorite practice method is scrimmaging and hitting lines because it helped me improve the most,” Matthews said.
A practice schedule typically consists of team bonding and scrimmaging. At a week’s glance, there is typically team outings and events to grow their bonds.
Athlete Emily Duhaime says, “I think my strength is support; this impacts my team because it lifts everyone’s spirits up.”
As you can see, the bond is strong between the Clarkston volleyball team and they always keep it positive when working together.
