School mascot promoting cancer awareness and showing support towards the cause.
At Clarkston High, students and teachers are currently showing support for a student battling cancer by wearing pink and green. On Fridays, every football player and cheerleader shows support by wearing matching shirts with pink and green with “Pancake cancer” on the front in green. These are more than just shirts; they are a representation of how the whole school has this student’s back and is showing their support.
“I think that this is such a good cause because it shows this student that they aren’t fighting this alone and that they have so many others here for them. It shows that although the situation is difficult, we are all fighting for them and will be supportive of them,” CHS senior Amelie Ducasse said.
No student should have to go through such a thing, especially not alone. If students continue to show up for them and show support, it makes the weight on their shoulders just a little bit lighter.
“It makes me feel so good to show them support, as long as they know we have their back, it makes me feel complete,” CHS senior Carla Fernandez said.
When teams come together to show support, it makes a significant difference. It is truly amazing to see how a high school community can come together to support one specific student.
